Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting consists in melting and throwing the material out of the slot with heavily concentrated plasma arc and allows for cutting all the materials of high current conductivity. Plasma arc is heavily ionized gas of high kinetic energy. The velocity of stream is close to sound velocity. Arc inflammation is performed through the high current intensity impulse. High temperature of arc allows cutting without pre-heating , thanks to which the time for cutting through is shortened .
The advantages of plasma cutting:
- the surface of cutting are highly precise, perfect shapes of cut-out elements save time and costs during further machining,
- cutting within a range from 0,5 mm with quality close to laser cutting quality,
- without "jagging" up to 15 mm (depending on material),
- low temperature of material heating,
- low level of distortions,
- small slot of cutting.
In our machining park we have a specialized, heavy-duty cutting machine CNC JANTAR-2 ECS 859 by ECKERT equipped with plasma generating unit Kjellberg HiFocus 360i FlowControl. The machine features high dynamic properties - high speed and precision, and the advanced gas control system allows for achieving the optimal cutting parameters.
Technical data:
Maximal dimensions of plate sheets:
2000 x 3000 mm.
Thickness of cutting:
carbon steel - 0,5 to 100 mm,
acid resistant steel - 1 to 60 mm,
aluminum - 1 to 80 mm.
Modern control system based on industrial version of PC computer allows any configuration and full visualization of cutting process on the TFT- 15’ display.
Special software allows digital recording of data for the cutting program, which define the elements’ shape and cutting parameters. The machine’s software is compatible with other applications (e.g. AutoCad).
